David Edwards has always had a flare for property investing, purchasing his first property from a young age, starting out developing residential homes before moving on to commercial property.
After many years of developing, David decided to set up Edwards Investments in 1997. Edwards Investments now invests and builds commercial developments and then controls the management of the properties on a number of ground-breaking sites.
Some of his many acquisitions to note include Belle Vue Court, a Victorian structure that was being disused and was progressively falling into despair. David took this property on and successfully transformed it into six exclusive apartments finished to the highest of spec. The large Victorian entrance hall was transformed into its original style with chandeliers, original mosaic flooring, an original sweeping staircase and a beautiful stained glass window.
Another of his acquisitions was Llwynpia Magistrates Court, a large disused former courthouse with a nuclear bunker. David saw the potential in this court and developed it as a new training centre for ITEC, the international specialist examining and training college. It is now houses around 300 people daily, keeping them off the streets and helping them to better their lives. Another successful acquisition David has made.
Barry Magistrates Court is another of his acquisitions, a huge development that is soon to feature 52 affordable houses and flats and 13,000 sq. ft. of retail space. With some units having already been sold and leased to the likes of Filco, Pizza Hut, the local council and a local restaurateur. This exciting venture is going to be finished in November 2014 and it is massively anticipated by the local community.
Another acquisition of his is Aberdare Bingo Hall. This property has been purchased and planning is currently being discussed to house 18 apartments and 3,000 sq. ft. of retail space which has been sold to Filco.
